New records of jejenes on the subgenus Stilobezzia of Stilobezzia (Diptera: Ceratopogonidae) from the Neotropical Region

Se proporcionan nuevos registros de las siguientes diez especies del subgénero Stilobezzia (Stilobezzia) de la región Neotropical: S. blantoni Lane & Forattini, S. chaconi Macfie, S. fiebrigi Kieffer, S. glauca Macfie, S. kiefferi Lane, S. maculata Lane, S. pallescens Lane & Forattini, S. paulistensis Lane, S. punctulata Lane y S. rabelloi Lane. Tres de estas especies, S. glauca, S. kiefferi and S. maculata, se registran por primera vez de la Argentina.New records of the following ten species of the subgenus Stilobezzia of Stilobezzia are provided for the Neotropical region: S. blantoni Lane & Forattini, S. chaconi Macfie, S. fiebrigi Kieffer, S. glauca Macfie, S. kiefferi Lane, S. maculata Lane, S. pallescens Lane & Forattini, S. paulistensis Lane, S. punctulata Lane and S. rabelloi Lane. Una nueva especie del género Stilobezzia del Parque Nacional Nahuel Huapi, Argentina (Diptera: Ceratopogonidae)

A new species of Stilobezzia (Acanthohelea), collected in the Nothofagus forests of the Nahuel Huapi National Park (Argentina), is described, phopographed and illustrated based on the examination of  male and female adults. The new species can be easily recognized by the elongate and narrow posteromedian projection of the male sternite 9; it is compared with S. (A.) hirsuta Ingram & Macfie. A new species, Stilobezzia (Acanthohelea) longisternalis, collected in the Nothofagus forest of the Nahuel Huapi National Park (Argentina) is described, photographed and illustrated based on the examination of male and female adults. Stilobezzia (Acanthohelea) curvistyla (Diptera: Ceratopogonidae), nueva asociación de sexos y redescripción del macho

Study of the type material, new specimens of Stilobezzia (Acanthohelea) curvistyla and recently collected Stilobezzia (A.) megatheca showed an erroneous association of sexes in both species. The female allotype of S. (A.) megatheca belongs to Stilobezzia (A.) curvistyla. The right association of sexes is provided, the male of S. (A.) curvistyla is redescribed, the species diagnosis is expanded and its geographic distribution is extended.El estudio del material tipo, y de ejemplares de Stilobezzia (Acanthohelea) curvistyla y de Stilobezzia (A.) megatheca, colectados recientemente, demostró una incorrecta asociación de sexos en ambas especies. El alotipo hembra de S. (A.) megatheca pertenece a Stilobezzia (A.) curvistyla. Se realiza la correcta asociación de sexos de S. Study of the immature stages of two species of the biting midge genus Culicoides (Diptera: Ceratopogonidae)

Pupa of Culicoides insignis Lutz, 1913, and larva and pupa of Culicoides bambusicola Lutz, 1913 are fully described. They are illustrated and photographed using binocular microscope, phase-contrast stereoscope at oil immersion and scanning electronic microscopy, from material collected in Corrientes and Misiones provinces, Argentina. Palatum, maxilla and hypopharynx of the fourth instar larva of C. bambusicola as well as the cephalothoracic sensilla and sensillar pattern of the fi rst and fourth abdominal segment of the pupa are described for both species. The immatures of C. bambusicola are compared with Culicoides debilipalpis Lutz, 1913. Pupa of C. insignis is compared with the following related congeners: C. maruim Lutz, 1913, C. charruus Spinelli & Martinez, 1992, and C. annetae Spinelli & Borkent, 2004.Fil: Marino, Pablo Ignacio. El subgénero Stilobezzia (Eukraiohelea) en la Argentina y Paraguay (Diptera: Ceratopogonidae)

Se registra por primera vez para la Argentina a Stilobezzia (Eukraiohelea) amnigena (Macfie) y a Stilobezzia (E.) elegantula (Johannsen) para la Argentina y Paraguay. Se reconoce a Stilobezzia subsessilis Kieffer como sinónimo menor de S. elegantulaStilobezzia (Eukraiohelea) amnigena (Macfie) is recorded for the first time from Argentina, and Stilobezzia (E.) elegantula (Johannsen) from Argentina and Paraguay. A revision of the Patagonian predaceous midges of the subgenus <i>Acanthohelea of Stilobezzia</i> excluding the <i>S. (A.) edwardsi</i> group (Diptera: Ceratopogonidae)

In this revision of the Patagonian predaceous midges of Stilobezzia (Acanthohelea) (Diptera: Ceratopogonidae), the seven previously known species, Stilobezzia bicinctipes Ingram and Macfie, S. hirsuta I. and M, S. ornaticrus I. and M, S. patagonica I. and M, S. rava I. and M, S. succinea I. and M. and S. varia I. and M. are redescribed, illustrated and their distributions are expanded. Diagnoses are provided for Stilobezzia curvistyla Cazorla and Spinelli, S. longisternalis Cazorla and Spinelli and S. nigerrima I. and M, and the male of S. bicinctipes and the female of S. ornaticrus are described for the first time. Seven new species are described with photographs: S. estepae, S. mapuche, S. megatheca, S. monomorphica, S. pabloi, S. spinosa and S. tridentis. Nuevos Hallazgos de Especies de la Tribu Palpomyiini (Diptera: Ceratopogonidae) en la Argentina

New findings from Argentina, some of them notorious, of five species belonging to the tribe Palpomyiini are reported: Amerohelea pseudofasciata Grogan and Wirth and Bezzia venustula (Williston) from the Somuncura plateau, B. chilensis from Rio Negro, B. fluminensis from Corrientes, and Clastrieromyia uruguayensis from La Pampa.Se informa acerca de nuevos hallazgos en la Argentina de las siguientes cinco especies de la tribu Palpomyiini: Amerohelea pseudofasciata Grogan and Wirth y Bezzia venustula (Williston), en la meseta de Somuncurá en la provincia de Río Negro; Bezzia chilensis Ronderos and Spinelli, en el Oeste de las provincias de Río Negro y Salta; Bezzia fluminensis Lane, en el norte de la provincia de Corrientes; y Clastrieromyia uruguayensis Spinelli and Grogan, en la provincia de La Pampa.Facultad de Ciencias Naturales y MuseoInstituto de Limnología "Dr. Raúl A.
